Whitmore Watercolors is a custom paper business whose beginnings started on Whitmore Drive in Atlanta, GA by artist Leslie Bicksler. Leslie has always enjoyed being creative whether with flower design or in the kitchen, but took a leap one Mother’s Day and purchased a watercolor set as an additional creative outlet. She was immediately drawn to the technique and its expressive and sometimes unpredictable beauty. What began as an outlet grew when her dear friend and artist, Jana Fleming, pushed her to share what she had been experimenting with on the wild world of social media. The response was enthusiastic and Whitmore Watercolors began to blossom into the small business it is today.
Each piece from Whitmore Watercolors features art hand-painted by Leslie and then locally, professionally art scanned. From there, Leslie works some magic in graphic design, developing the most ideal layouts, fonts, and colors to complement the watercolor art. Once the designs are ready, Leslie uses an amazing local, digital printer to fulfill her orders. Every paper good has truly been developed with excitement and anticipation of being shared with others. To Leslie, the most wonderful part of her business is how her customers use their purchases. Whether gifting presents to friends or writing to loved ones on notecards, the sense of relationship and connection is on-going and it is a privilege to her to be a contributor to this end.
When Leslie isn’t painting, designing, or shipping orders, she has the joy of being mom to two young girls and wife to a very supportive husband.
